Q-10 · Pelvic Ring Fractures · trauma · A–E keys

A hypotensive blunt-trauma patient has an open-book pelvic ring injury. A binder is on and blood pressure has improved. The next film the team wants requires taking the binder off for a “better inlet.” You should:

• A.Remove the binder — pretty films come before physiology
• B.Leave the working binder; this is a resuscitation problem before it is an implant problem
• C.Go straight to definitive SI screws in the trauma bay
• D.Start therapeutic heparin for pelvic DVT prophylaxis before any imaging
